Are you interested in losing weight? If you are, you should be in the process of developing your own weight loss plan. A weight loss plan is a guide that you can follow and one that may help to give you more motivation in your weight loss program. If this is your first time developing a weight loss plan for yourself, it is important that you place a focus on exercise, as exercise is important component of weight loss.
Although it is nice to hear that exercise is an important part of a weight loss plan, you may be wondering exactly why that is. For your body to lose weight, you must see a reduction in your calorie intake or an increase in your calories usage. The amount of calories that you need to reduce (combined decrease and burned), in order to lose weight, will all depend on your current weight and your hopeful weight loss goal. Unfortunately, this is where many individuals automatically assume that they can’t eat three meals a day and many actually just stop eating. This is not only dangerous to your health, but it can be deadly. It can also be detrimental to your program as your body may stop burning the fat calories to preserve it’s self. Many of the diets out there today fall into the category of starvation diets. They take essentials from your body making you more likely to become ill or give up on the diet.
Instead of reducing your calorie intake by solely limiting the amount of foods that you eat, you can use exercise to your advantage. By exercising, you burn off excess calories.. If you have a specific weight loss goal, like one that involves losing at least twenty pounds, you may want to focus on fun exercises or workouts, but also ones that burn the most calories. Adding exercise to your weight loss plan is a natural and a healthy way to lose weight. Also by adding exercise you build muscle which burns more calories than fat thus helping you lose more weight.
Since it is important to incorporate to exercise into your weight loss plan, you may be wondering how you can go about doing so. In all honestly, there are an unlimited number of ways that you can go about using exercise to help you lose weight. The simplest way is to get out for a walk every day or more than once a day. Also you could buy a collection, even just a small collection, of exercise equipment. Exercise equipment can include items such as exercise balls, weights, a treadmill, a stair climber, and so forth. Even if you have limited financial resources, you should be able to find a number of exercise equipment pieces that are within your budget. Look at garage and yard sales or flea markets.
Although you should be able to find a number of exercise equipment pieces, including instructional workout DVDs, for affordable prices, you may be looking to limit your weight loss plan investments. If that is the case, you may want to take the time to examine your local gyms or fitness clubs. While some fitness clubs and gyms have relatively high membership fees, you can also find a number of them with affordable membership rates. It is also important to mention that many fitness clubs and gyms are open accommodating hours, often making it easy to exercise before work, after work, or even during a lunch break of yours.
Not all exercise is associated with exercise equipment, like a treadmill, that is not all that exercise is about. Exercise can also involve something simple like going for a walk or taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work or parking further from the mall or office so you have to walk a little further. If you would prefer to exercise, for free, in your spare time, you may want to consider finding an exercise buddy. This is a person who can workout with you, even if it just involves walking around your local shopping mall. Not only can you make a new friend or strengthen your relationship with one of your current friends, having an exercise buddy or an exercise partners often means that you are more likely to stick with your weight loss plan and achieve your weight loss goals.
There are also programs online that can help you develop an exercise program that is suitable for you. If you look you can find some programs to help you build that successful exercise program to help you lose weight.
As noted above, it is extremely important that you incorporate exercise into your weight loss plan, especially if you are serious about losing weight and wish to do so in a healthy matter. With multiple ways to go about incorporating exercise into your weight loss plan, there really isn’t any excuse for not doing so.

It's Not Your Fault
If you are overweight and cannot shed those extra pounds it may not be your fault. It may be your metabolism is too slow. Metabolism is the body’s system for breaking down the nutrients you take in and using them to run your body. If your metabolism is too slow then the body stores the nutrients as fat deposits. And so you gain weight or you cannot lose weight.
Don’t despair though because there is a system out there that can help you increase your metabolism. In doing so you will begin to burn the fat deposits and lose the weight. The method of doing this is called calorie shifting. No you will not be starting another of those starvation diets everyone tries to sell you on. You will continue to eat your meals but you will change how you eat them.
You will eat different types of food at different times and in different amounts each day or two. This will fool your body into changing its metabolic rate regularly. What normally happens is you eat about the same amount of the same foods daily and your body becomes used to that. If you increase your intake your body is set to burn a certain amount and the rest is stored as fat.
When you diet you decrease you caloric intake and as you do so your body then adjusts to protect itself and your metabolism slows thus you lose weight for a while but then you flatten out and stop losing. The human body thinks you are trying to starve it and works to protect itself in this manner.
What we have you do is to increase the amount you eat for a couple of days thus increasing your metabolism. Then you eat less for a couple of days and your metabolic rate is up so your body consumes what you take in plus some of your stored fat. The next couple of days you eat something different in a different amount and the same thing happens. You fool your body into keeping the metabolism high thus burning calories and helping you to lose weight.
This method has worked and continues to work today. I myself lost over 20 pounds using this method of eating and I have managed to keep it off for over a year now. Look for more information on this method in my articles.

7 Weight Loss Tricks
Weight loss tricks which are not well known can give you an advantage you would not otherwise have. Many people find it difficult to lose weight in a safe and consistent way, but it is not that difficult if you know exactly what to do. There are many techniques and little known tricks you can use which will help ease the process, and speed it up. In this article you will find some very efficient weight loss tricks.
Weight Loss Trick 1
Keep an accurate and honest record of your progress. Some weight loss tricks which we don't want to use are the ones which cause self inflicted misery. We can often lose the battle ourselves by being dishonest about our calorie intake or our missed exercise because we were too busy. This can largely be avoided by keeping an accurate weight graph. It is easy to use graph paper to plot the results of your weight loss progress, or lack of it. Make sure you weigh yourself consistently, wearing the same clothes, at the same time every day. When the graph is joined together to form a line, you will have visual evidence of your progress.
Weight Loss Trick 2
Keep a record of the food you eat. So many people fool themselves by choosing not to remember all of the times they gave in and ate something they shouldn't have eaten. Then, they feign surprise at their lack of progress on the scales. Make a complete written record of everything you eat, keeping it accurate and comprehensive. Make a note of how much you eat, and the time of day you eat it, as the body burns calories at different rates at different times of day. Try to note the exact number of calories if you can. The weight loss graph and diary will allow you to analyze for yourself what you are doing that is producing results and what is not.
Weight Loss Trick 3
Get rid of the junk food. Junk food, or as some call it “fast” food, is riddled with empty, useless calories. Even eating this once a week will put a severe brake on your progress, as one meal of a burger, some fries and one sugar laden drink can contain the same calories as you would get from three healthy meals. There is no way you can expect to lose weight by taking in an extra day's worth of calories every week, let alone daily, so the junk food should be cut out entirely. One can of soft drink can contain 240 calories or more.
Weight Loss Trick 4
Set a goal for yourself. It doesn't matter if the goal is modest, as some people only need to lose a small amount of weight. If you have a really serious problem with obesity, as so many Americans do today, then do some research on your own and find out what your optimum body weight should be. Even though that target may in the distance, it will be doable with some solid, consistent effort. Everything is easier when there is a clear destination that you are trying to reach, and when a large goal is broken down into smaller ones you get a sense of accomplishment with each one reached.
You can use some these simple but effective weight loss tricks to help you reach your target much more easily. Take note of and use these weight loss tricks, because they will give you renewed hope, and a belief you can succeed on your quest.

Natural Weight Loss
The safest and most natural method of losing weight is to eat right and keep moving.
That single sentence tells you all you need to know to prevent being overweight, or to help you lose weight. That single instruction should be extremely easy to follow, but not for 35% of Americans who cannot prevent themselves from an overweight..
Once we are overweight are desire to trim down takes effect for many different reasons, including health and our appearance.
It is never too late to lose weight, but it's a whole lot easier to not put on weight and try to lose it. We all know, weight gain can happen if we do not take steps to prevent it.
Most health experts say the people who are losing weight will stray. They will go back to eating as they have in the past. They will also return to their sedentary ways even if they have enjoyed more exercise.
Despite the movement toward weight gain, you can prevent it from happening. So say the experts. There are many reasons to avoid the excess weight. Those reasons go beyond vanity and social acceptance. The significance of weight gain also takes a toll on their health.
The method of maintaining a healthy weight is not that complicated. In fact most people know what they should do, so losing weight the natural way, should not be a problem. A reasonable approach for losing weight is to stick to a diet high in complex carbohydrates, high in fiber, moderate in protein, and low in fat.
Your baked potato is a complex carbohydrate, while the sour cream and butter is the fact which you should not use. Fiber is vegetables and fat is that we'll you should not fry them in. The lean cut of meat is protein and the gravy you pour over it is fat.
One of the worst culprits in weight gain is dietary fat. Dietary fat is a dense source of calories, and the body stores this much more efficiently than excess calories from other sources.
Do not fall into the fat-free trap. Frequently, you are getting as many calories from the fat-free food as the non-fat free, but the calories are not coming from fat.
When you're hungry, it is better to respond with healthy snacks, and to eat smaller meals every three to four hours. Your snacks could consist of whole-grain toasted bread or fruit.
Losing weight naturally is a developed process, and it is not a fad. It will take considerable determination and self-control to achieve your weight goals.

Weight Loss Supplements
Today we see more and more people spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars each year on weight loss. They look at weight loss and hope of speeding up their metabolism and increasing the speed of weight loss. The main desire for these people is to be attractive and accepted but this is becoming more difficult to achieve. The fitness industry is growing like crazy, but there are still a lot of people unable to lose their fat in spite of all their exercise and diet efforts. In the United States alone, more than 60% of adults are overweight and 30% are considered obese. This is due to a lot of weight loss products, promising unrealistic goals, dietary supplement manufacturers relying on the overweight persons failure to survive and the information regarding supplements on the market are written by the seller just to make the sale.
The Food and Drug Administration has successfully banned many illegal marketers. However, some products are still available. Consumers can be fooled by the labels which claim to be caffeine or ephedra free. Not knowing that these supplements are composed of other ingredients that may pose the same health risk. These include heart and digestive problems, headaches, inability to sleep, and psychological side effects.
Some manufacturers claim that their products contain EGCG, which is an ingredient in green tea, claiming to speed up metabolism. In some studies it found that this ingredient could slightly increase your body's ability to burn calories and is now found in numerous weight loss supplements. It has many good points, but the body may still adapt to EGCG after a period of time causing it to lose effectiveness. The effective benefit of this ingredient could total 60 to 70 calories per day, which would help prevent excessive weight gain.
Since the number one reason why people eat is because they feel hungry there’s another ingredient on the market, which increases the feeling of being full and decreases appetite, Guar Gum. However, numerous recent studies have shown that this ingredient has no meaningful benefits to weight loss.
One of the newest innovations in the weight loss industry is to use skin absorption instead of pills. There's a cutting gel, which is one of the best-selling fat loss cream technologies today. It is an epidril product. You just rub it where you want the fat loss. There is no proof that this product is effective. Looking at the industry, today, there may be a few products on the market, which are helpful, but your best bet is still to cut calorie intake and increase exercise.

Calorie Shifting an Easier Way to Lose !
What is calorie shifting? It is a new concept in dieting that is helping many people with their weigh loss goals without starving them. It is a method of fooling your body's metabolism into shifting into high gear and keeping it fooled. This causes it to burn the calories you take in as well as some of your stored fat calories. I used a modified variety of this diet and lost over 20 pounds and have managed to keep it off for over two years now. I did not starve myself nor did I spend a lot of time exercising.
You have seen people doing the low fat diet for years with no major results. It apparently is not the cure. Millions of dollars are spent annually on low fat food at the grocery and at restaurants but we just don't seem to be improving as a society. This low fat diet just does not seem to be the answer. It seems to be a quick weight loss method that when you quit you regain the weight because your body still craves the intake of food.
Starvation diets....low calorie and low carb....... these diets are another form of starvation and is harmful to your body and you regain the weight and usually more following your stopping the diet. The weight gain is due to your body's metabolism adjusting to the starvation diet and decreasing itself to protect your body. Then you go off the diet and wham you gain the pounds again.
So you say what is calorie shifting? You eat different types of calories at different times of the day. You make a diet change as to the types of calories (protein, fat, carbs, etc) everyday. You do not starve yourself nor do you kill yourself with lots of exercise programs (tho I still think exercise is a must for a healthy body). In making these daily changes in the types and amounts of food your body does not get into a set rate of metabolism. It keeps changing thus it keeps burning the extra calories on the days you decrease or change your intake. Then you go back to eating a normal diet for a day or two to get your metabolism fired up again.
